About the research centre or Inria department

The Inria Centre at the University of Rennes is one of Inria’s nine centres and is home to more than thirty research teams. It is a major and well-recognized player in the field of digital science. The centre is at the heart of a rich ecosystem of R&D and innovation, involving highly innovative SMEs, large industrial groups, competitiveness clusters, research and higher education institutions, excellence laboratories, and a technological research institute.

Context

This is an Inria/ANSSI collaborative project. The candidate will integrate the SUSHI research team from the IRISA laboratory, Inria Centre at Rennes University, working in collaboration with experts from ANSSI’s Device Security Laboratory (LSC) and Detection Research and Exploration Laboratory (LED).

Assignment

This postdoctoral work aims to contribute to building a physical security evaluation methodology and framework for embedded AI implementations on edge AI accelerators, integrating SCA and FI.

Main activities

The expected steps of the work include:

  • Definition, design, and implementation of an embedded AI service. The objective is to build a measurable Proof-of-Concept (PoC) enabling early physical security measurements.
  • Definition of the evaluation target and of the test plan. This step requires insights into security product evaluation procedures and discussions with certification experts.
  • Physical security evaluation of the AI service. This step will apply hardware evaluation
methods as defined in the previous step.

Skills

Benefits package

  • Subsidized meals
  • Partial reimbursement of public transport costs
  • Leave: 7 weeks of annual leave + 10 extra days off due to RTT (statutory reduction in working hours) + possibility of exceptional leave (sick children, moving home, etc.)
